350.org

Mission

350.org is building a global grassroots movement to solve the climate crisis. Our online campaigns, grassroots organizing, and mass public actions are led from the bottom up by thousands of volunteer organizers in over 188 countries. 350 means climate safety. To preserve our planet, scientists tell us we must reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere from its current level of 392 parts per million to below 350 ppm. But 350 is more than a number—it's a symbol of where we need to head as a planet.

Programs

Domestic and global field: the domestic and global field program works to bring public policy and corporate practice in line with the scientific necessities of tackling the climate crisis. This work is accomplished through building broad and deep connections to support community level organizing in the us and in nearly every country on earth, as well as identifying key moments to elevate an issue and advocate for social change. communications: the communications program works to shape the terms of debate on climate change domestically and internationally through a creative and incisive narrative and a sophisticated media strategy encompassing both traditional and new media. digital: the digital program works to facilitate dialogue and organizing amongst individuals, organizers, and organizations in the global climate movement around the world. This work is accomplished through online media such as emails, blogs, and social networks, multimedia such as photo galleries and videos, and web tools such as online maps that allow users to more quickly and easily understand how to connect to a global movement for change.
