Achievers By Choice

Mission

Achievers by choice is organized exclusively for educational, charitable, literary or scientific purposes including, for such purposes, as the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code or corresponding section of any future federal tax code. Notwithstanding any other provision of these articles, achievers by choice shall not, except to an insubstantial degree, engage in any activities or exercise any powers that are not in furtherance of the purposes of this organization, and the organization shall not carrying on any other activities not permitted to be carried on (a) by a corporation exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)3 of the internal revenue code, or (b) by a corporation, contributions to which are deductible under section 170(c)2 of the internal revenue code.

Programs

Services and curriculum materials: continued using search institute's building assets curriculum materials for grades 1-12 throughout the academic year. Also designing online academic enrichment activities for youth in grades k-12 using coursesites, a free service available from blackboard. Activities are organized by subject and level in one place for easy access. operating expenses: provided refreshments, supplies, materials, printing/copying services to cover the basic operating expenses for the program for the year. promotional: using and distributing promotional pens, pencils, and other materials purchased last year. Program leaders also keeps and cleans t-shirts and distributes to youth to wear at group activities. increase in participation: participation remained consistent from the previous year, serving 62 youth from brazos, grimes and washington counties. Another space has been made available to allow the organization to offer services in a second location. Note: the expenses related to services are all included in the first area. )
