The organization's primary exempt purpose is to reward achievement of utep students, promote participation in utep activities, develop school spirit at utep, and provide utep alumni recruitment opportunities.

Athletic activities, homecoming activities, and other annual events including receptions, pre-game parties and affinity programs support programs such as chapter development, membership dues, student outreach, community outreach and the affinity program help raise money for utep scholarships and the utep alumni association through royalties
