To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents, teachers, and students may cooperate intelligently in the education of middle school age youth. To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all middle school age youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, and social education.

The ptso provides aid to the teachers through educational publications, remembering their birthdays, and providing meals and activities for their involvement. They also participate by meeting some of the classroom needs. the ptso recognizes students and teachers for various achievements, and they provide awards to those who demonstrate those criteria. the ptso provides scholarship money to a graduating student who meets the required criteria. This is paid to the student's selected college.
