Membership program professional craftsmen took on apprentices at varying skilllevels in a full time 1 year program in order to teach them the skills necessary to make a living as a professional craftsman. These apprentices were recruited from the area's many displaced employees left unemployed by departing legacy industries, such as textile and furniture manufacturing. members shop part of the apprentices training includes marketing and selling wares. The member's shop fulfills that need by supplying a retail outlet for apprentices (and all other exhibiting members)to sell their work. They can receive feedback from the buying public and produce better work.
