Promoting the education of chinese language and culture.

Education

Anjcs schedules educational events on behalf of its member schools as well as for the public. These events include computer workshops, teacher training seminars, and faculty conferences; some which are held several times each year. These activities help to improve the quality of education within the schools. anjcs sponsors and organizes student-related events and activities. This includes chinese chess, calligraphy, and yo-yo competitions, knowledge and poem contests, and basketball tournaments. Anjcs also hosts the annual nj convention meeting for its member schools. anjcs organizes and coordinates multiple events within the nj community: confucius memorial ceremony, chinese new year/culture holiday, nj nets chinese night, sat-ii & ap-chinese exams. The purpose of these events is to promote cultural awareness while performing community outreach. anjcs sees importance in recognizing individuals that have excelled and made exemplary contributions to the community. Awards and scholarships are given to these individuals in acknowledgment of their achievements: chinese school honor students, best teacher, teacher merit, teacher service, and community service leadership.
