Education
Certification program provides documentation by the american society of diagnostic and interventional nephrology that an individual physician has met specified requirements for the performance of particular procedures. Certification is presently offered to active members in three areas: sonography of kidneys and urinary bladder, insertion of peritoneal dialysis catheters, and endovascular procedures on av fistulas and grafts and chronic central venous catheters for dialysis. All members are eligible to apply for certification. accreditation program provides documentation by the american society of diagnostic and interventional nephrology that a nephrology training program or other training site has met specified requirements related to institutional support, facilities, expertise, experience and personnel directed toward training in diagnostic and interventional nephrology. Accreditation is presently offered in two areas: hemodialysis vascular access and placement of pd catheters. journal of vascular access is the official journal of the american society of diagnostic and interventional nephrology. In conjunction with wichtig publishing this bimonthly publication focuses exclusively on cutting-edge clinical aspects of vascular access. It publishes peer-reviewed papers by the most respected names in the field of vascular access. The journal is available to members and non-members of the society.
