Association For Anthroposophic Psychology

Mission

"re-membering psycho-logy through rational anthropo-sophia" an image-rich statement describing our activity in bringing a psychology of soul and spirit to professional counselors, and to the general public, that incorporates the spriitual science of anthroposophy and the discoveries of modern psychology, while also endeavoring to find ways in which this anthroposophic psychology can be, shared, applied, and intergrated with mainstream psychology according to the needs of our times.

Programs

Aap designs courses and materials. In 2017, several gatherings were sponsored by aap to gather the best in the field of purposeful psychology-including positive psychology, transpersonal psychology, humanistic psychology, psychosynthesis, and anthroposophic psychology-to identify areas of research that must be pursued, and to create curricula that could be used in training those in the helping professions, including psychologists, social workers, life coaches, and others. The research is ongoing and involves meeting six times a year to pursue that research. A newsletter has been created to share these discoveries. The curricula are being offered to other organizations for implementation. Aap invites, gathers, and then vets professionals in the helping professions to discuss these issues of life's purpose as seen through psychology. In 2017, there were eight meetings of different groups chosen by aap. Aap also promotes the writing of articles and books. Articles in magazines and interviews were published or made available on-line. Aap continues to reach out in many directions to knit together mainstream psychology and a psychology based on the philosophy of anthroposophy.
