Algalita's mission is to lead the world to a plastic pollution free future. From science to policy, technological innovations to changing throwaway culture, we believe it’s critical to pass along our complex understanding of the issue to the next generation of young leaders.

1. Our annual International Youth Summit is designed by young people, for young people and adults working together to take action against single-use plastic consumption. Participants dive into their local projects, share and network with each other, and work with mentors to further develop their plans. Each year, 15 Summit alumni are selected to become Peer Advisors and lead the following year’s event. 2. Our Youth Innovation Forum is a three-day conference-style event connects youth directly with industry leaders in worldwide plastics manufacturing, recycling and design to explore how technology, business models and waste management improvements can aid in eliminating plastic pollution. 3. Our Wayfinder Society is an online platform that guides students through a sea of discovery and provides the tools and network to tackle plastic pollution within their community. Students shape their own participation while earning rewards for accomplishing goals. 4. Our Experienceship is a hands-on internship designed to give an educational journey through plastic pollution. Weekly meetings will cover everything from analyzing the solution set and local implications to zero waste culture and our waste management system. Our goal is to provide interns with the knowledge, tools, and resources to have a deep understanding of this critical environmental issue and to start applying their skill-set to creating a future where plastic pollution is unthinkable.
