Programs

A woman's place provides free, confidential, comprehensive services to victims/survivors of domestic violence. In 2017, a woman's place advocates assisted a total of 299 survivors with safe shelter and provided 5,504 nights of stay despite operating at half-capacity for three months due to renovations. Advocates answered 625 crisis calls and provided 618 legal advocacy services. Throughout the year, advocates assisted victims with safety and self-sufficiency through 24-hour services and programs such as crisis line coverage, emergency shelter, individualized goal planning, parent and children programs, and support group. advocates assisted 139 victims with nonresidential services to include 282 hours of prevention and intervention counseling, assistance with temporary and permanent protection orders, advocacy, safety planning, and resources and referrals. A woman's place offered 121 different education and awareness events to weld county. we provide community outreach and education in an effort to mobilize our community for the prevention of future domestic violence and support for victims and survivors. These services include professional presentations, community activities, and educational events. In 2017, advocates provided 121 professional awareness activities. Outreach advocates also assisted multiple volunteers and interns who worked a total of 2,677 hours.
