Abilities first operated two facilities for comprehensive residential care. The doty house is located in middletown and the hopewell residential center is located in franklin, oh. Each facility is "home" to children and adults of physical disability and mental disability, for who continuous, high quality care is the most beneficial option. Our unique, warm, family atmosphere with capable nursing assistance and in-house therapy services enables young men and women to experience lilfe at its fullest. Regular at-home activities like meals and self-care, as well as work, school, and special leisure activities, offer a multitude of opportunities for personal growth as they master new challenges, residents broaden their range of skills and abilities and their self-esteem flourishes. Residents feel completely at home in a place where security, acceptanve, and a sense of belonging abound the stability of "family" provides a strong foundation for living at its highest potential. There are about 30 residents in the program. therapy programs provide comprehensive outpatient physical occupational and speech therapy to children from birth to 22 years of age. Therapies are also encorporated into the autism learning center which is an accredited educational program for pre-school through second grade. abililties first operates two adult day programs. Both are located in middletown. The adult day program provides inclusion, independent living skills, social & vocational skills to incorporate the individual strengths and needs into daily living. abilities first offers an inclusive step up to quality rated child care center and pre-school, as well as opportunities for adults with disabilities to enjoy a wide range of recreational and employment related programming.
