Programs

Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels provides food and support to the homebound elderly, disabled, and ill residents of the Ypsilanti, MI, community. We realize that many people, especially the infirm, the ill and the disabled, take comfort in remaining in their own homes, but are unable to shop or cook for themselves. The meals and the personal contact we provide help people care for themselves in their homes. A majority of our clients live alone and get by on little money and no additional support. Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels provides them with two meals a day, Monday through Saturday, with an additional meal delivered on Saturday to be eaten on Sunday. We provide pet food and supplies and weekly produce delivery. Items from our Personal Care Pantry, such as cleaning products and adults diapers, are available upon request. Our newest program, CAPABLE, enlists a team of professionals to help seniors make changes necessary to age safely in their homes. And our weekly Only a Ring Away telephone reassurance program acts as an additional wellness check as well as a way to fight loneliness and isolation.
