The backbone campaign invigorated the national progressive movement by bringing training, giant puppets and other imagery to conferences, rallies, protests and media appearances across the country to generate positive media for grassroots causes; and through telephone and email outreach, online action alerts, and social media and podcasts to promote civic participation.
