The first tee of tulsa offers programs and instruction which focus on developing life skills using the game of golf. The programs are open to all young people ages 8-18. Students learn basic skills such as hitting, chipping, and putting. The students also learn etiquette, safety, rules, club selection, and application of life skills on the course and in the classroom. Through golf, the program is intended to teach students critical life skills, self esteem, goal setting, career exploration, etc. Summary of accomplishments in 2017: winter program in schools: 3665 studentsnational school program: 6951 studentsoutreach clinics: 369 studentsspring, summer and fall mohawk: 1456 students2017 total number of students: 12,617total number of classes held at mohawk and page belcher golf course: 60 classes. Each class held once a week for 8 weeks. Each class time was held for a minimum of 1. 5 hours. 1018 number of instructional programming hours taught by staff.
