Mission

America's foundation for chess (af4c) uses chess as a learning tool to teach critical thinking skills, advance math and reading skills, improve behavioral and social skills, and build self-esteem in 2nd and 3rd grade students.

Programs

Af4c teaches critical thinking in the classroom using its first move chess curriculum. In the 2016-2017 school years, the organization served nearly 125,000 second and third grade students in twenty-six states across the country. End of the year teacher reports state that 100% of students find first move very engaging and 95% of teachers state that it is a valuable use of time.
