The organization was organized to: (1) collect, preserve and interpret artifacts pertaining to williamson county african american culture and increase understanding and appreciation of our heritage for future generations, (2) foster public awareness and understanding of the african american way of life , including the culture and historical contributions of african americans to the growth and development of the city of franklin and williamson county, tennessee and (3) to preserve the heritage of the african american culture in franklin, tennessee.
