As one of thirteen of Maryland's state-certified heritage areas, ATHA, Inc. has an honored mandate to award funds to partners across the county for projects and programs that promote history, art, culture, and nature. The organization does this through reviewing and accepting grant requests to the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority (MHAA) major grant program ($100,000 and less) and through our Rocket Grant program ($5,000 and less). Each year, ATHA awards $25,000 in Rocket Grants and helps direct approximately $500,000 per year through MHAA grants into the Heritage Area.
