The primary purpose of the organization is to restore, preserve and maintain the frank lloyd wright designed properties across from central park in mason city, iowa for the purpose of promoting an appreciation of local mason city buildings and the significance of historical and architectural influence. The organization also provides history and education related to the buildings, frank lloyd wright and prairie school architecture.

The primary activities of the organization are oversight and maintenance of the historic hotel property which was placed in service in 2011 and development of a curriculum to provide architects and teachers with information related to the buildings, frank lloyd wright and prairie school architecture. The organization also provides docent-led tours of the hotel property to educate patrons about the historic property, frank lloyd wright and the rehabilitation process that the hotel underwent.
