916 ink provided over 175 hours of writing and reading instruction to over 100 youth who were on probation at a continuation high school and/or were incarcerated in sacramento probation's youth detention facility. Each youth's writing was published in an anthology, which was later celebrated at a private and/or public book release party. 916 ink provided over 270 hours of writing and reading instruction to over 180 students in conjunction with visions in education in sacramento, concord, and pleasant hill. Each youth's writing was published in an anthology, which was later celebrated at a private and/or public book release party. In addition, 22 teachers were trained in 916 ink methodologies during a three day professional development writers' retreat in june 2015. 916 ink provided leadership and oversight to the youth engagement action team in the building health communities zone, i. E. South sacramento, along with providing over 400 hours of writing and reading instruction to 195 low-income youth in south sacramento. 30 of those youth collected over 500 signatures for a petition that advocated for more art and literary experiences in their low-income neighborhood. provided creative writing classes to at-risk youth and literacy education events w/ hands-on activities for at-risk youth and/or the community. These funds supported over 275 young people with engaging literacy and/or literary arts-based activities that fulfill the mission of 916 ink. Approximately 4000 hours of services were completed. Collaborating organizations that 916 ink worked with on these programs were: fosterhope sacramento, walk 4 literacy, rio linda public library, mustard seed school, health professions high school, capitol heights academy, and la familia counseling center.
