Provide care for homeless & stray animals. Shelter & make animals available by screening for new adopted homes. Provide funds & support for low cost spay/neuter programs. Provide animal care, education, spay/neuter funds, foster, board & care for homeless, lost animals. Provide management necessary for the services that benefit the entire community by taking care of homeless, lost, stray & abused animals. Cared for 10,919 live animals, answered 27,653 calls, drove 142,247 miles to respond to service calls & provide humane education classes to 5226 children & 2304 adults. Offered $59,462 in spay/neuter vouchers for the publics pets and feral cat population. Transported 4,740 animals to clinic for spaying & neutering. 1,662 volunteers provided 22,860 hours of service to the organization. Placed 563 animals into foster care. Sold 25,153 licenses to residents served. afv operates a low cost spay neuter and vaccination clinic out of the former animal shelter. This clinic has elminated the need for the travel to local low cost spay/neuter veterinarinas other than for high risk surgeries. Spay/neuter surgeries were provided to 6740 dog/cats. 22,873 vaccinations were provided and 979 microchips were administered. afv provided funds for the publics medical treatments for individuals that qualified based on income and/or age. Two grants were received and $14,313 was provided for treatments. Afv set up a similiar fund from a contribution that was received and funding in the amount of $27,501 had been spent during the fiscal year.
